GAME RULES
Follow 3Â easy steps and you will be ready to play.
CHOOSE A CHARACTER
1. You will create one character that you will use for the whole game.
2. The type of character that you choose must be one that exists in Arcana
3. You can choose to create a character that is one half of one type of character and one half of another. For example, you could be part giant and part pixie.
4. Every character gets 20 personality points. You can distribute them however you want, so that you can create the perfect personality for your character.
5. Fill out your character sheet and bring it to every class. You will continually update the sheet as you gain more items, powers, and gold coins.
START WRITING
1. Every word that you write during this course earns you one gold coin. Gold coins help you to level up and they allow you to buy supplies that you need for the game.
2. You can count words that you write for Arcana class assignments, but you can count every other word too. For example, if you write a letter to friend, it counts. If you write a shopping list, it counts.
3. On your character sheet, you will keep a tally of your total number of words so that you can track your level.
4. On your character sheet, you will keep track of number of gold coins that you have in your coin purse. This number will go up and down as you write more words and buy items.
5. You can write by hand, type, or use speech to text.
6. You can get extra gold coins for using the writing process by brainstorming and editing.
GO SHOPPING
1. There are many shopping streets. They are all found on the "Student Corner" page of this website.
2. You may only shop on streets that are equal to or lower than your level. For example, all students may shop on Main Street, but only students who are at level 3 or higher may shop on Third Street.
3. When you buy an item, add non-magical items to your inventory list on your character sheet. If you buy weapons, armour, or magical items, there are places to record these on the first page of your character sheet.
