STUDENT AGE RANGE

Adventures in Arcana classes are aimed at students between the ages of 7-12. Students of all writing and reading abilities thrive in the inclusive atmosphere of this learning situation.

WRITING EXPECTATIONS

Students earn one gold piece for every word that they write in between classes. Every word that a student writes during the week counts, even if they are writing for other subjects or simply making a shopping list.

Gold coins (gc) serve two purposes: students can spend their gold pieces to buy items that they need for their quest and they can get to a higher level every time they write 500 words.

Here is List of All the Ways to Earn Gold Coins

1 gold coin = 1 word you write (there is no limit to how many gold pieces you can earn in one week)

100 gold coins = doing an extra writing assignment in which you write in character

50 gold coins = each time you brainstorm

50 gold coins = each time you edit or peer editing a piece of writing

25 gold coins = for completing your homework on time

35 gold coins for submitting your homework before the deadline

40 gold coins - for submitting your homework on the same day that it is assigned

10 gold coins = sharing your writing with the class either by reading it or having the teacher read it

HOW DOES THE ROLE PLAY PART OF THE CLASS WORK?

Prior to the first class, students receive a character information sheet so that they can become familiar some of the creatures that inhabit Arcana.

During the first class, they will learn more about each character type. After that class, each student will decide what type of character they want to play and they will complete a character background sheet.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you cancel a class before it starts, you will receive a full refund. After the start date, no refunds will be given because your child's spot can no longer be filled.
