Felixs' Journal

Felixs' Journal

Dear Journal

Hi! My name is Felix Tinkles but you can just call me Felix. Let me start from the beginning. I grew up on a farm near King’s Town. There was always something to do. From weeding to watering and picking I was actually never bored. My family grew carrots, beets, cucumbers, and tomatoes. We also have a couple blueberry and strawberry patches. We sell all this at our local market. I also used to have chickens but something killed them. I only had four anyway.

Moreover, I never went to public school. My mother disagreed with public schools so I just home-schooled. Years passed and I finished school. I moved out and built a house near River’s Keep. I’m planning to open a potion store so watch out! I might open!

Hi Journal! Here I wrote a persuasive letter to Master Marmon because I entered to be one of the King’s Champions. I hope he understands!

Dear Master Marmon,

In my opinion, I think I should be one of the King’s Champions. I have been kind and helpful in the past. I once saved an old lady who almost got run over by a horse carriage! I had to shove her out of the way so she wouldn’t get hurt. If I had not done that the lady would have been probably seriously injured.
Another time my neighbour’s barn was on fire (this happened when I was ten), but he wasn’t home so I connected a hose to a water outlet and put it out. Everything was fine ‘cause it was a fairly small fire. When my neighbour finally came home, I told him what had happened. He was really shaken. He tried to give me some gold coins but I refused. I simply like helping.

In addition, I can fly really fast. I can speed up to fifty kilometers per hour. That’s really fast right? I also like reading books so that I can learn about plants in order to make useful potions to use.
You will not regret choosing me – I promise you that. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

Felix Tinkles

Dearest Journal,

I got picked as one of the Champions! I’m on a quest right now but I also have to inform the King Markadron and Pax. So, here’s another letter. We’re also in a bit of trouble...

Dear King Markadron and Pax,

Hey guys! Thank you for choosing me as one your Champions! I really appreciate that! Well, as you know, right know we’re starting the quest. Everything is great! Except for one teensy weensy problem. . . we’re stuck in a Serpa Pit! Yeah, that’s right. It’s been great (sarcastic). Let me start from the beginning. We all safely got past the Wordwood Tree. That was a relief. So our group kept on flying (my friend Woodzy kept walking), and about thirty minuets later, a Knight walked out of one of the stray trails.

One of our group members (Sage – I think), asked where all his teammates were. “Oh, they’re all goners,” he said. “ We got lost in the Maze Tunnels. I was the only one that got out before the Tunnels shut.” “ Why didn’t you help them?” asked Sage. “ I’m not a real Knight,” said the “Knight,” sadly. “ I’m just a baker in armour.” Then Sage asked her last and final question: “Do you know which trail to go on??” “Don’t take the Main Trail,” said the Knight, his expression looking serious. “There’s tons of traps. Your group should go on the forked trail instead,” he advised.

Then, he finally walked away. Everybody had different ideas on where we should continue travelling. In the end, our group couldn’t decide so we had to vote. Most people voted to go on the Main Trail so we kept moving via the Main Trail. I didn’t want to go on the Main Trail. Neither did Woodzy or Viper. But I shouldn’t complain. Fair is fair. While I was pondering our future away, suddenly, we all fell though a trap door covered with dirt into a Serpa Pit. To make things worst – as already was – the trapdoor shut. And, Draco the Dragon was bleeding. He wasn’t bleeding too much so I wasn’t overly worried. At least we could see in the dark pit because we took a lantern with us. Thanks to Shadow!

Another similar situation occured at one of my jobs, after I had finished Pixie homeschool. One time, at the Abandoned Mines, I was mining for coal. I was there drilling underground, when suddenly HUGE rocks fell down from the top and I got caved inside! You know what I did to get out? I squeezed between those giant rocks. It was easy for me because I’m only six inches tall. Still, it was really scary. Of course, I also had a lantern with me. I hope we get out soon.

Cross your fingers,

Felix Tinkles

I’m back! Don’t worry, we all got of the Serpa Pit. Everthing is fine. Anyway’s, I don’t know what the date is so I can’t write it on here. However, right know we are at this strange talking bridge and it will only let us cross it
if we tell it a riddle. So I told my riddle, and talked about the inspiration behind
it.

The Creature I’m Scared Of
By Felix Tinkles

Once upon a time, my family and I went on a vacation, to the Fishing Villages, in Pax (this was when I was a pixie teenager). So, we left Markadron on a horse carriage. We also brought lots of snacks and food because this was a day trip. We rode through Pax and kept on travelling on a gravel road to the Fishing Villages. By this time it was midday and my butt was numb from sitting in the carriage because the seats were wooden and as hard as stone. It was also very uncomfortable because I was squeezed in beside my sister – Andrea.

“ Stop touching me!” she whined. “I’m not trying to!” I said. “Quiet, both of you,” said my mother. My sister just rolled her eyes. So as you can see, it’s pretty annoying when my sister complains. After a couple hours, we finally arrived at the Fishing Villages. My mother reserved a hut so we would have a place to sleep. When we walked back to our horse carriage (so we could ride to our reserved hut), this creature scared my sister and I. “BOO!” it yelled. My sister screamed and I jumped about a foot in the air. The creature giggled and ran away. I was furious! It was not funny at all! (Sigh), it doesn’t matter, it was almost Halloween anyway). One thing I know is I’ll never watch horror movies at night ever again (please God – forgive me).

If you want to find out what I saw on this interesting vacation – my dear bridge - you will have to solve this riddle I’ve written for you and figure out what I saw. Good luck!

I have human hands, eyes and intelligence,
My body is covered in fur and I’m shaped like a bear,
I have claws on my feet,
I’m as tall and giant as a small house when I’m an adult,
I smell like stinky fish,
We live in Fishing Villages both in Pax and Markadron,
We are big and strong,
Gee, what can I be?

The Bridge
Markadron
Arcana

Hello, it’s me – Felix. The quest just ended and I wanted to say a couple words.

All I wanted say is that lots of things have changed me. My personality is different, for one thing. I’m more kind and don’t argue as much as I used to before. I have fun and laugh more. I also realized that without all my friends, this quest wouldn’t have gone far. I am grateful that my friends have different abilities and techniques because if I were going on this quest by myself I would probably be stuck in the Serpa Pit (that we got trapped in), forever. That would not be fun. I also noticed that “teamwork is the dream work.” Having teammates is a good strategy because everybody can help out with what they’re good at. Even when I don’t know what to do in a serious situation my friends have ideas on what to do. Teammates are very helpful. I am still continuing to learn new concepts during this quest. See you until next time!

Bye Bye,

Felix Xoneus Tinkles
